Min kompis Kalle hade en idé om att ju fler högtalare du hade kopplade till din bilstereo, desto bättre ljud blev det. Hela hatthyllan i hans bil och större delen av baksätet var fulla av högtalare. Jag minns när vi satt i hans Volvo 343 och lyssnade på Accepts "Balls to the wall". Vi var kanske 18 då.

Låten hör till mina gamla favoriter, och jag har hört den otaliga gånger. Ändå har jag egentligen inte någon uppfattning om vad den handlar om. Bollar - eller ballar - mot väggen. Jaha. Någonting i stil med att spela squash då? Fast med testiklar?

Min engelska är utmärkt, jag har läst all min skönlitteratur på engelska sedan jag var 20 eller så. Jag kan tala om kvantfysik på engelska med en utländsk vetenskapsman. Men jag har ändå ingen aning om vad det är som Udo Dirkschneider försöker säga i Balls to the wall.

Jag ska göra ett litet experiment. Jag lyssnar på Balls to the wall och skriver ned det som jag kan urskilja. Jag kunde googla låttexten, men varför förstöra ett gammalt mysterium. Anyway, här är vad jag tycker att Udo sjunger.
